Chairperson, Shin Kong Life Foundation
Cynthia joined the Shin Kong Life Foundation (SKLF) in 2003 and currently serves as its Chairperson. SKLF was founded by her late-grandfather and has programs in conservation, humanitarian aid, women’s health and oral history.
More recently, Wu was a Vice-Presidential candidate in Taiwan's 8th National Election and served as a Legislator for the Taiwan People’s Party. During her legislative tenure, she was co-chair the Committee on Health, Environment and Labor and led key legislative initiatives for a sovereign wealth fund, digital health, AI and green finance.
Prior to her political career, she was a business executive with experience in strategy, marketing and finance. She worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in the U.K. and the Shin Kong Group in Taiwan. As a SVP at Shin Kong Life Insurance, a company with USD 120bn AUM, her department focused on digital transformation and strategic partnerships, driving business growth in ASEAN markets.
She holds an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art (UK) and a BA in International Relations and Art History from Wellesley College (USA). She is a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum.
